The night of the Autosport Awards at the Grosvenor Hotel on Park Lane in London was a fantastic occasion and we rubbed shoulders with all the stars and many key people within the industry.
Scott had been nominated for the McLaren BRDC Autosport young driver award and the Autosport club driver award. The young driver award winner was chosen after the six finalists, Tim Bridegman, Mike Conway, Paul Di Resta, Jonathan Kennard, Scott Mansell and Susie Stoddart went head to head over two days at a rainy Silverstone.
The drivers were evaluated over the course of two days at Silverstone in a variety of machinery, including the latest spec Dallara Formula 3 cars.
Among the previous winners of the award, now in its 16th year, are Formula One drivers David Coulthard and Jenson Button, DTM driver Gary Paffett and IRL IndyCar Series star, Dario Franchitti. The title was won last year by Alex Lloyd.
"Congratulations to Paul Di Resta who was the eventual winner and congratulations to James Pickford who poled the most votes and won the Autosport Club Driver of the year Award.
It was a great experience to go up against some very competitive drivers in the same machinery and I know it was a close fought battle.
The Awards ceremony was a brilliant night out and I am really pleased to have been chosen as a nomination in both categories along side some very good race drivers."
